In our experience, most hosts want to do the right thing when it comes to their health and safety obligations. Our goal is to ultimately educate hosts to think more about safety. We can change the landscape; when hosts think about their holiday lets, they should also think about how they can create safe and secure home for their guests.
We provide landlords and hosts with the relevant information on gas, electric, fire and legionella safety; and package it in a format that is easy for users to understand.
We’ve created a unique tool, our 30-second test, which allows hosts to find out if their property meets current safety standards. In a few simple clicks, hosts can use information from their own property to understand any gaps in gas, electric, fire, or legionella certification. Don’t worry though – we don’t ask for your address or contact information to show you the results.
We also give hosts easy access to our network of highly skilled engineers, who can perform checks and issue certificates to close any gaps in a property’s health and safety record. We’ll also get back in touch when your certification is due to be renewed.
Specifically in Edinburgh, Safe Host works with contractors who provide reactive maintenance 24 hours a day.
Safe Host is endorsed by some of the industry’s biggest brands.
After several years in the holiday let industry and having visited countless short term let properties, Founder and CEO Michael Cairns became aware of the massive knowledge gap in health and safety. Landlords were often under the impression that holiday lets were an unregulated industry, and despite best intentions, often let safety certification lapse. His aim was to make it simple for landlords to find the necessary information, and make it easy to book these services.
The idea grew from here. Safe Host appointed Livia Campagnola as Director of Business Development, who formerly managed the Scottish offices for one of the UK’s largest holiday let management companies. Safe Host has now expanded to include a network of highly skilled engineers in various U.K. cities. Please get in touch if you’re interested in becoming a part of our growing team.
